I feel like I haven’t touched base with a personal post in awhile. My goal was to write this post back in January, but here we are… In February and I am just posting it. I will take it – Better late than never!
First off, THANK YOU for following along with me! This blog started as a creative hobby and led into a business, which I did not see coming when I first began this journey years ago. I was just a girl finishing grad school and had some spare my time on my hands. Needless to say, I’m so excited for where this space has taken me, and I appreciate you staying tuned and following along the way! YOU ROCK!
First on the list of changes…
Over the last several months, a few changes have taken place around here. I’ve made some updates to the website (well, my husband Charles has done most of the updates – perks to marrying the cute IT guy). Because of his help, the website has received a face lift and become more user friendly for photography clients. YAY!!!
I still have a few changes I would love to see completed, and (hopefully) you will see those take place in the near future. And until then, I will savor our victory!
Next on the list of changes…
I have always LOVED the look of film. There is a vibrant and timeless look to film that cannot be matched. The colors just pop and look true to real life. Skin tones look soft and creamy. It is beautiful and absolutely one of my favorites. It is what I use to photograph my family.
If I love it, I knew I had to find a way to deliver the same opportunity to my clients. Last year I began adding film to my workflow. As long as lighting permitted, I photographed two rolls of film at every session, and I have loved the outcome! Now after tons of research and practice, I feel comfortable saying my sessions will be photographed with both digital and film mediums.
Just to give you an idea… If you have been following along with me on social media lately, majority of the images I post are photographed with film.
Lastly, on the list of changes…
The photographs of motherhood are my favorite to document and some of the easiest images to capture. I love how natural and at home my clients feel whenever I am around them, and I notice those feelings in my images. To better serve my clients, I have added birth photography to my list of offerings. Photographs of labor and delivery fall in line with the type of images I love to create (authentic, emotional, and timeless photographs). I’m so excited to offer birth photography, and I am looking forward to serving my clients in the near future!
By the way, as long as my clients are comfortable with me sharing their birth photographs, I will be sharing the images here on the blog as well.
I am excited to see where these changes will take me, and you know that I will be sharing my story on this space as well. I hope to continue to produce valuable content for my clients, share my photography journey, and keep you updated on life.
XOXO – Ashley
I’m loving the journey! I agree that film says it all.
Ashley your work is amazing!
Thank you!!! I appreciate the love!
I’m hooked, love watching your journey unfold, your eye for photographing is spot on!!
