As I photograph more families, I am learning just how much I enjoy documenting the first year. From newborn to six months to a child’s first birthday, I enjoy capturing it all. It takes patience to photograph during this time. It can be challenging. The poses and faces are always a surprise. And the entire experience for me is very rewarding because I am giving photographs to a family that I know they will always enjoy. It because of those thoughts I am excited to share today’s newborn session.
One of my recent newborn sessions took place right before the flooding began in Baton Rouge. I snuck away to the hospital on a Friday afternoon to shoot a newborn session for a sweet family as they welcomed their first baby boy! In between the rain and rising waters, I captured some beautiful images as this family became a party of three.
Meet the T Family and Baby Cohen.
The Details.
I always enjoy adding details to the end of posts to give you an idea of what was used to create this particular session. I photographed this Newborn Photography Session at Women’s Hospital located in Baton Rouge, LA. This type of Newborn Photography Session is a Fresh 48 Hospital Room Session, which allows you to capture your baby’s first few hours or days of life. We photographed for about an hour and half with breaks in between for mama and baby to rest as needed. The T Family walked away with 4×6 prints of 20+ images, a digital release for the photographs, and a memorable experience that will always be a part of their story.
I hope you enjoyed their session as much as I did!

One last thought… THANK YOU for taking the time to read and follow along! Photography was initially a hobby that I did in my spare time. To help push myself to continue to learn, I created a blog to hold me accountable for growing my skills. That blog grew in a part-time business where I now photograph families in the Baton Rouge area. If you would love to learn more about my photography services or just want to reach out to share a few words, feel free to email me at ashleylandryphotography@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you – Enjoy your day!
