Hello weekend… I’ve been waiting for you! I’ve got the next two days filled with rest and relaxation and a little adventure to close out February. How about y’all?
Last month, I started posting a photography recap sharing what I shot for each month. I’ve always loved shooting. However, after each shoot I’ve always been left with tons of photographs and no specific place to use them. Insert the creation of my blog. One of the reasons I started this blog was to have a place to share my photography. I want to continually challenge myself to shoot and to see my growth throughout the process. So, let me show you what this month gave me.
February brought a birthday celebration for me! I had a blast spending time with family and friends and cherishing another year. I also enjoyed receiving a few camera accessories that I have been putting to use these last few days. I’m picking out a new camera bag this weekend (Hello my Kelly Moore Bag!). I received a stylish camera strap that adds a little personality to my camera, and it is very comfortable. And I finally made a decision on a lens: a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4. This new lens is going to take some practice, and I can’t wait to see what I capture with it.
Let me share a little secret with you. I heart a good black & white photograph. I love the way they show emotion. They are timeless. Classic. Elegant. I love the look of them and everything they express. And I love the way they so easily represent a part of me. I shot quite a few black and white photographs this month especially with celebrating Mardi Gras.
This last week felt like one of the coldest weeks we have had lately. Cold weather is not my favorite. Not at all. I want nothing more to just stay home and stay warm when it is chilly, but life happens. Since I knew the week was going to be a little rough, I picked up a small bouquet of flowers at the store. I wanted a little reminder of what we will hopefully see very soon: lots of blooms. I’m ready for you, Spring!
And I couldn’t end this month without sharing a Jack Puppy photograph. I know my dog thinks I’m the paparazzi some days. But what can I say, a girl has to learn how to use her camera somehow. He handles my “learning” so well.
If you missed any part of January’s photography post, you can see it here. I’m signing off to enjoy my weekend. Have fun and enjoy your Saturday everyone!
